The K-3 Flipper from Reate Knives pushes the boundaries of traditional knife form without sacrificing any function or performance. The Blade: Damasteel in their “Dense Twist” pattern delivers a pattern welded steel that is exceptionally beautiful while retaining the performance of a more modern, powder metallurgy steel. The saber ground blade gives a good combination of strength and slicing performance. A long swedge enhances piercing performance and gives a creates a scoop on the spine, a solid platform for power cuts. The milled pocket with holes adds a nice visual element. A ceramic ball bearing pivot gives the K-3 silky smooth deployment via the index flipper.
The Handle: The K-3 is very comfortable in the hand with an ergonomic design, milled details and eye-grabbing Mokuti inlays. This knife looks fantastic while retaining an excellent functional design. A milled titanium backspacer with heavy jimping gives some traction in the hand while a 3D titanium pocket clip with ceramic tension ball allows for secure carry with fast deployment. The clip is tip-up right hand only. Polished titanium hardware complete the K-3 and the titanium frame lock delivers smooth, solid operation thanks to the steel insert which doubles as over travel protection.
