Based on his custom MS3 flipper, Michael Zieba has teamed up with Maniago Knife Makers (MKM) to offer a high quality production version in the Flame. Retaining the compact, sleek and minimalist design, the Flame provides a more accessible version without sacrificing anything in terms of design or performance. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of MKM a limited run of 60 pieces has been produced with a Bifrost Damasteel dagger blade, Space Coral Carbon Fiber scale and bronze titanium packaged in a wooden collectors box with certificate of authenticity.
Brand new, direct from MKM of Italy.
Blade: Riding smooth on a ball bearing pivot system, the slender Dagger profile blade of the Flame deploys with a flick of the micro flipper tab. At under 3 inches in overall length, the stunning Bifrost pattern Damasteel blade offers plenty of cutting edge for general use with a center fuller, single edge blade and integral dual guard that make this flipper an effective defensive tool. The double guard offers security and control in use while the fine point and dual flat grinds offer excellent performance.
Handle: A simple, tapered and contoured handle is formed from two slabs: striking red Space Coral Carbon Fiber for the front scale and bronze anodized solid titanium for the back with a partial stainless steel back spacer for balance. The uncommon coral carbon fiber delivers a classy look paired with the pattern welded Damascus blade while also reducing the weight for carry. Secure in the grip thanks to the distal taper, the handle is quite comfortable in multiple grip positions. Integral to the back slab, the frame lock mechanism is equipped with a steel lock face insert for smooth, reliable operation and rock solid lock up for the life of the knife. Slotted screw construction and a bronze anodized pivot ring round out the construction.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, bronze anodized, 3D titanium pocket clip.
Damasteel: A high hardness, high corrosion resistant steel that combines two martensitic stainless steels – RWL34 and PMC27 – in unique patterns that, when etched, create the designs seen on the blade. Damasteel delivers a blade that is very eye-catching and has performance in the realm of RWL34, similar to CPM154.
