Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany, this handsome time-tested Boker Boy Scout Lockback is approximately 3 inches long(folded/closed) and weighs approximately 1.9 ounces. The handle is smooth Grenadill Wood with a Round Nickel Silver Solingen Inlay shield. The bolsters are Nickel Silver with a Lanyard Hole. This knife utilizes a 2 1/4″ Locking Clip blade. The blade material is “Ripple” pattern Stainless Damascus Steel hand forged by Chad Nichols. Damascus blades are made by welding/forging together a few hundred layers of hard and soft steel and then etched with acid. The acid dissolves the layers at different rates resulting in a visible pattern on the steel. The alternating layers give more flexibility and toughness to the steel, and the hard and soft in the edge act much like serrations and aid cutting.
